Brig's pad

The nursery is basically done with the exception of the mobile I've been planning to make for the past 7 months (mobile creation is looking less and less likely). So I thought I would post some pictures of the nursery as is.

Here is the infamous crib you all have heard so much about. The bedding I won in a give away on designmom.com

Here is the dresser/changing table. My favorite part is the antique style glass knobs.

Here are Brig's guardian angels. Dave and I were going to buy some wall art with animals like these...but they were $90 each! Ouch. So Dave came home one day with the brilliant plan (and supplies) to paint our own animals. Which animal do you like the best?

This might just be my favorite item - the most comfortable glider in the world, but still small enough to fit in my tiny room. The pillow came tan, but my mom recovered it with some cute fabric to add color. Also the mini book shelf was a home depot special for $12.99. Gotta love that...

This is the door off one of the original windows that was in the baby's room before we replaced them. Dave sanded it down so you can see all the different layers of paint (which conveniently enough ended up being mostly blue). We are going to use this as a picture frame...we just need to order some pictures and get them in there.

Ta Da - almost done (just needs a mobile.) Thanks to Nana & Grandpa Lewis and Grandma & Grandpa Denham for helping us buy all this baby stuff!

So you might be curious - does Brig enjoy his new room? Well turns out Brig has an affinity for the sound of the exhaust fan in the new bathroom. In fact the bathroom fan seems to have the magical ability to help put Brig to sleep in the middle of the night. So, Brig has taken over the new bathroom. I knew we were in a rush to finish the downstairs bath for a reason. Poor Dave...after all his hard work, he has be demoted back to the old, small, upstairs bathroom.

And now I will take a minute to brag about my son. Last night he only woke up twice to eat and then went right back to sleep. He had a 5 hour stretch and two 4 hour stretches. The 5 hour stretch should have been glorious, but Dave was convinced he was going to starve to death and kept waking me up - trying to convince me to feed Brig.

Could he be any cuter? He is such a good baby...definitely a keeper.

I love the nursery. I've said it many times before but, he is such a lucky baby. Where did you get the rug?

He has grown since I've seen him. I am going to have to come visit again!!! I love that he is sleeping in the new, beautiful bathroom. What a great idea. I am all for trying ANYTHING to get that extra bit of sleep.

Oh and the nursery is fabulous! I can't pick a favorite animal. They are all too cute.

Thank goodness the basinett matches the bathroom - major disaster averted there. I got to spend 3 glorious hours with Mr. Brig last night. He was so excited to have some Aunt Yah Yah time that he slept THE ENTIRE TIME. I just sat and stared at him. He is glorious, beautiful, perfect. We planned to hit Bonnie Brae for ice cream but since Daddy Daycare Dave put the cabash on that [he feels his son is getting too much "exposure to Worldy Germs" time] we all stayed home. If Brig can't go, none of us will go.

Carrie and Dave are total naturals at the parenting gig.

This little boy owns ME

Not to mention the fact that the tornado sirens were sounding and there was a flash flood warning. Not the best time for a stroll to get ice cream.

It was fun to have you over last night.

Thanks everyone! OK to answer questions...

Missy-I got the rug at Urban Outfitters. It is cream/shag.

Sara-the answer to your question is you will not be leaving Colorado and going back to NYC. Obviously.

Amy-I feel fabulous! I have to say recovery from the C-section was WAY easier than I thought it would be. I think I got off pretty easy...

Diane-I LOVE not being pregnant so so so so so so so so so much. The heart burn is GONE! I have a whole host of clothes I fit into! I can lay on my back while sleeping. Fabulous!

No one voted for their favorite animal!

Okay, how did you make the wall paintings? I've been wanting to do something like this in Hudson's room, because I don't want to buy them either. Yours look great! Tell me how!

Grandma Marcia said, "I don't think that Brig is getting enough attention!" We're planning on him for the Big Red Tent Sleepover tomorrow night. I have the perfect spot for him--right next to me. That way I can hold him all night. How does that sound, Dave and Carrie? Are you game?

Grandpa and I loved the time we were able to spend with him Sunday evening. He's just a little angel straight from heaven. Good job, Mom and Dad.

He is just so darn cute I can't stand it. I'm gonna HAVE to see him in person, you know. And I love the nursery. I can't vote on an animal because they are all great. I've been wanting to do something like that, too! Glad you're feeling well.

Congratulations on your new bundle of baby boy! He is very cute. Your world will never be the same.

And good job with the nursery! It looks fabulous. I remember going all out with my first. This next one is going to get mismatched leftovers. Oh well. I think I vote for the giraffe. Although they are all winners. Very creative and cute. And worth every penny saved, I'm sure!

Anyway, keep posting pictures of Baby Brig! I will look forward to them.
